This is a lovely, quite striking edition of Faust: A Tragedy by Goethe, published in 1897 by Dunkmann Publishing House, Hanover. The text is written in German. Bound in the original publisher's decorative cloth, it is in very good condition. There is some light wear to the extremities and minor surface soiling. Marbled endpapers which are clean and free from inscriptions. Contents clean and bright throughout. There is slight gathering/pulling to the paper at the hinge at the preliminary pages and in places throughout, but this is minor. Large format. 32cm x 24.5cm.
