This is a particularly striking and well-preserved, large format edition of Adam Bede by George Eliot. Blue cloth featuring a pictorial paste down to the front cover and gilt decoration/lettering to both the front cover and spine. The boards are in very good condition with some light wear to the surfaces, bumping to the coners and some rubbing/wear to the edges and the head and tail of the spine. Plain endpapers with a presentation sticker to the front pastedown. The contents are lightly age toned but otherwise clean and bright throughout. Featuring numerous full page colour illustrations and pen and ink drawings by the English artists and children's book illustrator Gordon Browne. Top edge gilt.
