This is a classic children's activity book, first published around 1900, offering suggestions for games, pastimes, and useful employments like gardening or cooking, aiming to help less resourceful children and adults find activities indoors, outdoors, or in company.
Bound in the original publisher's green and ivory pictorial cloth with gilt lettering to the front cover and spine. The boards are in very good condition, with some light wear to the extremities and light surface soiling. The contents are age toned but otherwise clean throughout. There is an ink inscription dated Christmas 1923 to the front free endpaper and a name written in pencil to the 'this book is the property of' page. A really lovely book!
