This is a beautiful edition of Andersen's Fairy Tales. Bound in the original publisher's black pictorial cloth with silver coloured lettering to the front cover and an attractive silver coloured design to the spine. The boards are in very good condition with some light surface wear and some rubbing and bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine. Pictorial endpapers in shades of grey and white. There is a pencil inscription to the verso of the frontispiece dated 1939. The contents are lightly age toned with some light intermittent foxing. Beautifully illustrated with eight full page colour plates - collated complete.
