This is a lovely edition of A Treasury of Verse for School And Home. It features a wide selection of poetry which is divided into four sections; 'For the Littlest Ones', 'In Wood and Dale and Fairyland', 'In Realms of Gold', and 'On Parnassus'. Poems include 'Little Sorrow' by William Shakespeare, 'Cradle Song' by Lord Tennyson, 'Then' by Walter de la Mare, 'The Shepherd Boy's Song' by John Bunyan, 'The Ivy Green' by Charles Dickens, 'Pocahontas' by William Makepeace Thackeray, 'The Bells' by Edgar Allan Poe, and more.

Bound in the original publisher's cloth with a pictorial onlay to the front board and gilt lettering to the front cover and spine. The boards are in very good condition with some rubbing and bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine. There is also a small crack to the head of the spine and minor surface wear. There is a name written to the front free endpaper. The contents are clean throughout but there is some moderate foxing to the preliminary pages, which then becomes light and occasional. Having acquired a few copies of this book I have found this to be quite typical. Some spotting to page edges.

A very good copy of this lovely book.
