This is a somewhat scarce book and a wonderful source of information for anyone interested in 'the religious beliefs and superstitious customs of the old Norsemen.' It has some fascinating chapters, including Legends and Myths, The Gods, their Worlds and Deeds, Odin, Father of the Gods, Loki and his Race, Baldur's Death, Ragnarok, The Twilight of the Gods and many more. It also features numerous detailed illustrations.
Bound in the original publisher's red pictorial cloth with gilt lettering to the front cover and spine. The book has a slight forward lean but is in very good condition - the boards are vibrant and bright with a few minor white marks to the front cover as shown in the image provided. There is some rubbing and bumping to the corners and light shelf wear elsewhere. The contents are firmly bound, lightly age toned with a few light spots of foxing throughout - otherwise clean and bright. Top edge gilt.
A superb example of this uncommon book.
