Bound in the original publisher's brown decorative cloth with gilt lettering to the front cover and black lettering over a gilt title band to the spine. The boards are in particularly good condition - there is some light wear to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine but the gilt is vibrant and bright and the boards are lovely and clean. The book feels slightly shaken, but this is often the case with a large volume - the contents are all firmly bound. There is an ink inscription to the ffep and the contents are age toned with some moderate foxing to the preliminary pages which becomes much light and occasional. There are newspaper cuttings inside the book with recipes on which I have left in place as I always do - if you would like me to remove them prior to posting just let me know. 
 
This is a particularly well preserved example of this uncommon antiquarian cookery book.
