A beautifully illustrated fairy tale, following the adventures of Martin Pippin as he sets out to rescue a farmer's daughter.
 
Bound in beige cloth with a pictorial design and lettering in black to the front cover and spine. The boards are lightly soiled, with some wear to the extremities and fraying to the cloth at the head of the spine. Decorative endpapers with the remnants of an owner's sticker to the front pastedown. Solidly bound. There is a superficial crack to the hinge at the preliminary pages revealing some discolouration, as shown in the images provided. The contents are lightly age toned with occasional foxing, though nothing significant. There is a small tear measuring approx 1.5cm to the bottom of p.70. The illustrations are protected by tissue guards which have browned or have some foxing around the edges. All edges gilt.
