This book surprised me. I expected something more like an annual for boys and girls, as was typical at this time. But it is so much more than that. Informative, extremely detailed and beautifully illustrated. Poignantly gifted to 'Fred Mullock, with love from his Father, July 20 1914' - just eight days before the start of World War I. 
 
Pictorial paper covered boards with a blue cloth spine. The boards are in very good condition with some rubbing and bumping to the corners and light edge wear - otherwise the image to the front and design to the rear cover remain beautifully bright and clean. Ink inscription to the front pastedown dated July 20 1914. The contents are age toned but clean and bright. Featuring four double page and seven other colour illustrations and over three hundred other illustrations.
