The 'Ameliaranne' books are about Ameliaranne Stiggins, who is the eldest child of six. Her mother takes in washing to earn a living, but her father is never mentioned. The books were written by a number of different authors, but always illustrated by Susan Beatrice Pearse, and published by George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd.
This lovely book has pictorial paper covered boards with a red cloth spine. The boards are in very good condition with some light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Pictorial endpapers which are clean and bright, with a neat ink inscription to the front pastedown. The contents are lightly age toned but otherwise clean throughout. Prolifically illustrated in colour. Complete with the original dust-jacket which is in good overall condition. It has some surface soiling, tanning to the reverse side and a few spots of foxing, wear to the extremities and although it is complete, there is a tear to the upper spine.
