This is a beautiful edition of Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell. Bound in the original publisher's red pictorial cloth, the boards are in very good condition. There is some light surface soiling, minor fading to the spine and wear to the extremities including a small tear to the cloth at the head of the spine, but the colours remain vibrant and bright. There is a prize inscription to the front free endpaper dated 1913-14. The contents are age toned with some intermittent foxing. The front hinge is cracked but the contents are firmly bound. Overall a lovely vintage copy of this book.
