This is a set of two books by the wonderful Edith Nesbit, a British writer who is considered one of the greats when it comes to books enjoyed by children and adults alike. 
 
Bound in red cloth, both books are in very good condition with minimal signs of wear. Likewise, the contents are very good. Each book has an inscription to the front free end paper - the pages are lightly age toned with a few spots of foxing, mostly to the preliminary pages. They are otherwise clean and bright throughout. Beautiful illustrated. 
 
Complete with the original unclipped dust jackets[11s 6d net] and [12s 6d net]. The jackets are in good condition overall. There is some wear to the edges, minor fading to the spine of Five Children and It, and each jacket has had tape placed on the inside, which has since been removed. Unfortunately there is a shadow of the tape showing on the front cover of Five Children, as shown in the images provided. This is superficial only - I believe the tape was placed to pre-empt future wear, as there is certainly no other reason for it. A lovely set.
