This is an absolutely beautiful copy of The Enchanted Land: Tales Told Again by Louey Chisholm. It features fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm, Hans Andersen, Mary de Morgan and others, which are retold by the author, Louey Chisholm.

Beautifully illustrated by Katharine Cameron (1874 - 1965) who was a Scottish artist. Born in Hillhead, she studied at the Glasgow School of Art and exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy, from 1894 to 1965. She also worked as a book illustrator.

This book is bound in a brown cloth with a beautiful pictorial paste on to the front cover, and gilt lettering to the cover and spine.  There is some minor scuffing to the boards and some light bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine, with a small split to the cloth at the lower spine. The picture to the front cover has a small area of the girl's hair which has rubbed away, which can be seen on close inspection. Bright gold endpapers which are lightly soiled but free from inscriptions. The pages are lightly age toned with the occasional spot of foxing, but nothing significant. Ink inscription to the upper right half-title page. Top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed. 
 
A beautiful and highly collectable book which has clearly been much loved and cared for.
