The Folio Society are renowned for their high quality books, exceptional craftsmanship and beautiful designs, making them an affordable way to collect books, particularly when a first edition may be rare and subsequently very expensive. These books are bound using durable materials and traditional book-binding techniques, and they are always adorned with specially commissioned artwork by well-known artists. 
 
This book is no exception. The Green Fairy Book, originally published by Longmans, Green and Co. in 1892, and then again by the Folio Society in 2009 with minor emendations to the text. It features many classic, well-known fairy-tales accompanied by illustrations by Julian de Narvaez, a Columbian illustrator who specialises in pen and ink drawings and fantasy art.
 
The book itself is in fine condition, with no marks, inscriptions, fading or wear. The slipcase is in very good condition, which just a couple of small marks to one edge. A beautiful and gift-worthy copy.
