This is a particularly good first edition of Moncrieff's survey of the legends of Medieval Europe. Bound in the original sage green cloth with a beautifully decorative Art Nouveau cloth binding in black and gilt. The boards are in very good condition, clean and bright with some light wear to the extremities. Green endpapers which are free from inscriptions. The contents are lightly age toned with some moderate foxing to the preliminary and endpages and some light intermittent foxing throughout.
