The 'Ameliaranne' books are about Ameliaranne Stiggins, who is the eldest child of six. Her mother takes in washing to earn a living, but her father is never mentioned. The books were written by a number of different authors, but always illustrated by Susan Beatrice Pearse, and published by George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd.
This lovely book has pictorial paper covered boards with a blue cloth spine. The boards are in very good condition with some light rubbing and bumping to the extremities, minor surface soiling and an area of fading to the upper spine. Pictorial endpapers which are clean and bright. Ink inscription to the title page dated 1942. The contents are lightly age toned but otherwise clean throughout. Prolifically illustrated in colour. Complete with the original clipped dust-jacket which is in fair-good overall condition. It has some surface soiling, wear to the extremities and a section of loss to the upper spine.
