This is a beautiful and scarce first edition of Littledom Castle, a charming set of fairy stories. It is in very good condition, bound in purple cloth and embellished/lettered in gilt on the spine and cover. There is some light wear to the extremities but the cloth is clean and the gilt remains bright. It is beautifully illustrated throughout by some of the best known illustrators of the period. Includes a colour frontispiece and monochrome illustrations by Arthur Rackham, Kate Greenaway, Hugh Thomson, Harry Furniss, Jessie M. King and others. Black endpapers with an ownership label to the front pastedown belonging to Drusilla & Colin White. The contents are lightly age toned with the odd minor spot of foxing and a grey mark to pages 321/322 (see image provided), but otherwise they are also very good.
