This beautiful book is a scarce, first edition of The Making of Mona by the English children's author Mabel Quiller-Couch [1865-1924].It is bound in black cloth with brown and pink Art Nouveau design to the front cover and spine. The boards are in very good condition, with some light bumping to the corners and minor edge wear. There is an inscription to the front free endpaper presenting the book to 'Kate' for the 'best home-made toy.' Illustrated frontispiece in colour by British illustrator Ernest Wallcousins. The contents are lightly age toned but otherwise clean throughout. This book has clearly been much loved and cared for, making it a particularly good example.
