Brown paper boards with colour illustrated overlay to front. The boards are in very good condition with some minor surface soiling and some rubbing and bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine. The pictorial overlay to the front board is in lovely, bright condition. Plain endpapers with a neat ink inscription to the upper right corner of the front free endpaper. There is some light occasional foxing and a few pages have some grubby handling marks to the edges. At the bottom of pages 64-65 the pages have a small tear and the corners have turned in slightly. Featuring both full page colour illustrations and in text black and red illustrations. Complete with original dust jacket which, as shown in the images provided, has significant wear to the edges and some loss to the upper rear cover. 
 
** As with most fairy tales, there is an element that may not appeal to parents or grandparents today, particularly if this book is intended as a gift. Please examine the illustrations as there are a couple that may not be suitable for younger children.
