Bound in the original publisher's pictorial cloth. The boards are in good overall condition though there is moderate soiling, particularly to the rear cover. I have no doubt that this could be cleaned. The contents remain bound but the binding is very loose with webbing visible at the hinge. Half title page loose. p.15 loose. The contents are good and beautifully illustrated - there is some light intermittent foxing throughout - a few handling marks and some spotting to the page edges. 
 
Honest opinion - this is a highly collectable book and it is certainly not falling apart. It is just very loose and needs careful handling. In the right hands some simple restoration would give it a new lease of life. As a spine on the shelf, it is beautiful.
