This is a beautiful yet incomplete set of the works of Hannah More, featuring seven of the original eleven works published. Volumes present II; III; V; VI; VII; IX; XI. Full leather with five raised bands, gilt decoration and gilt lettering over a brown leather title band to the spines. Lovely marbled edges. All volumes are in very good condition. Overall there is some rubbing and bumping to the extremities, a few chips to the leather and some surface scratches, but nothing significant. More specifically, volume III has a superficial crack to the upper front joint; volume VI has a significant crack to the front joint and whilst it remains firmly bound it should be handled carefully and volume V has a more significant scuff to the leather on the front board, as shown in the images. Marbled endpapers, each volume with a sticker to the front pastedown featuring a crest with initials. The contents to all volumes are clean and bright throughout, with the odd spot of foxing. Overall beautiful and quite a scarce set to find.

Volumes I and II (of 4 originally published) of Memoirs of The Life and Correspondence of Mrs Hannah More, uniformly bound to match the set above. There is a name written alongside the family crest in one of these volumes but I can't quite make it out. Contents clean with some foxing to preliminary and endpapers.
