Brown boards decorated with gilt lettering and a cobweb design to the front cover. I believe there has been some repair work to the spine, with the original covering laid over. A common issue with this particular edition is cracking to the spine, and so I suspect this repair has addressed that. There is still a crack to the front joint visible, but the contents are securely bound. The boards have some rubbing and bumping to the corners and minor scuffing to the surface. Internally the contents are very good overall. The endpapers are very attractive, decorated with trees/cobwebs and birds. The pages are lightly age toned with some spots of browning/foxing. Featuring 24 illustrations in colour and many new illustrations in the text. Each illustration has a captioned tissue guard, one of which has some creasing. There is a crack to the hinge but as previously mentioned, the contents are firmly bound.
