This is a beautiful edition of The Works of Alfred Lord Tennyson, Poet Laureate. 
1898: Published by Macmillan and Co, Ltd. 
Prize Binding. Solidly bound in blue leather with a gilt border to the front and rear cover and a gilt crest to the front cover of Woodhouse Grove School, Apperley Bridge. The boards are in good condition with some scuffing and bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine. The upper rear board is a lighter shade, perhaps due to sun damage - see pictures. 5 raised bands to the spine. 
Lovely marbled endpapers with a prize sticker to the front pastedown dated July 1898. The pages are lightly age toned but otherwise clean and bright. All edges gilt. 
Overall a beautiful book.
