This is the second volume of the "Adventure" series in which the characters Philip, Dinah, Jack, Kiki the parrot and Lucy-Ann encounter exciting adventures. There are seven other books in this "Adventure" series, entitled: The Island, The Valley, The Sea,  The Mountain, The Ship, The Circus and The River of Adventure. 
 
This book is a 1956 reprint of the first edition. Bound in a pale yellow cloth with green/brown lettering and pictorial design to the front cover and spine. The boards are in very good condition with minimal signs of wear. The contents are also very good. There is a #2 written in ink to the front free end-paper, no doubt an owner's or booksellers mark to say that is the 2nd book in the series. The contents are otherwise clean and bright throughout. Complete with the original dust jacket, designed by the artist Stuart Tresilian. It has been price clipped with more than the usual corner having been removed, as shown in the images provided. The colours of the jacket remain vibrant and bright and it has some light edge-wear, moderate wear to the head and tail of the spine and a closed tear to the lower front cover.
