This is a lovely edition of The Golden Age, a collection of childhood reminiscences by Kenneth Grahame, the author of The Wind in the Willows. It was first published in 1895, and then again in 1899 as an illustrated edition in both Britain and America, with illustrations by Maxfield Parrish.
 
This is the first US illustrated edition, bound in green cloth, decorated in blue and yellow with lettering in yellow to the front cover and gilt to the spine. The boards are in very good condition, with only light rubbing and bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine. The contents are lightly age toned with the odd spot of foxing, but overall clean and bright. Rough cut page edges. Top edge gilt.
