This edition of The Sleeping Beauty features a lengthy preface by Arthur Quiller-Couch, and four classic stories [The Sleeping Beauty; Blue Beard; Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast].
 
Blue cloth with gilt lettering to the spine. The boards are in good condition overall, with some wear to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine and some light surface soiling. The contents are age toned with some light intermittent foxing, mostly to the preliminary pages. With fifteen beautiful tipped in colour plates, each with a captioned/pictorial tissue guard. Collated complete. The captioned guard for the frontispiece is detached with a tear and their is a tear to the final page, both shown in the images provided. Superficial crack to the front hinge but contents firmly bound.
 
This edition concurs with the Edmund Dulac bibliography by Hughey, which dates this edition with blue cloth as 1927. It also notes that the reverse of the title-page reads: 'Made and printed in Great Britain for Hodder & Stoughton, Ltd., By C. Tinling & Co., Ltd., Liverpool, London and Prescot. Pictures in colour printed by Henry Stone & Son, Ltd., Banbury.'
