This is a lovely edition of The Sleeping Beauty, featuring a lenghty Preface by Arthur Quiller-Couch, and four classic stories [The Sleeping Beauty; Blue Beard; Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast].
 
Blue cloth with gilt lettering to the spine. The boards are in very good, clean condition with only light wear to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine. The contents are lightly age toned with some light intermittent foxing. There is an ink inscription to the front pastedown. With fifteen beautiful tipped in colour plates, each with a captioned/pictorial tissue guard. Collated complete. The tissue guard for the frontispiece is partially detached, though still sitting firmly in place. 
 
Complete with the original unclipped [10/6] dust jacket, featuring a pictorial pastedown to the front cover and blue lettering to the cover and spine.  The jacket does have some wear to the surface and the edges, discolouration and a small section of loss to the upper spine. There is also a tear on the spine. See images for accuracy. 
 
This edition concurs with the Edmund Dulac bibliography by Hughey, which dates this edition with blue cloth as 1927. It also notes that the reverse of the title-page reads: 'Made and printed in Great Britain for Hodder & Stoughton, Ltd., By C. Tinling & Co., Ltd., Liverpool, London and Prescot. Pictures in colour printed by Henry Stone & Son, Ltd., Banbury.'
