Title: Witch's Hollow: Or, The Adventures of Johnny, Joan and Judd, with Fairy Good-Fortune and the Witch O' The Wood.
Author: A. W. Brook.
Illustrator: Miss Emmeline Radford.
Publisher: Raithby, Lawrence & Co Ltd: Leicester.
Published Date: 1917. First Edition.
****This is a particularly scarce book, but sadly three of the plates are missing, hence the lower price.
It is the true UK first edition, with "Fieldshead, Leicester March 1917" to the dedication page. Bound in the original publisher's blue cloth with a pictorial paste on to the front cover. The boards are in good, solid condition, though there are signs of wear, with rubbing and bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine, some surface scuffing and discolouration to the front boards. The contents are age toned with browning to the endpapers and light foxing throughout plus some intermittent darker marks. One illustration is loose but sits neatly in place. As mentioned above, three illustrations are missing. There is an ink inscription to the front free endpaper and the front joint has a superficial crack, revealing webbing beneath. It is however firmly bound. The nine plates that are present are beautiful.
